Field guide No. 412
Wax transformer substation at midnight
High voltage, low flame.
At night, every transformer in a fenced electrical substation is a giant black candle with a lit wick, wax running down over the insulators. The grid is now on candle power.
Field noteTransformers are steel and oil. Built in wax with lit wicks, they’d melt at the first load.
Also possible, also breaking material
The bread remembersGeodes form in hollow rock; sourdough has hollows. The bakery would need several million years.
Where asphalt unravels into woolTarmac is not knitted, and that is the only rule broken. Roads do fray; just not like this.
Ironing crumpled aluminumFoil can be smoothed, not turned into a mirror-thick plate. The iron added metal somewhere.
Hidden connectionStations are often under hills. A zip is just a fussier tunnel portal.
