Field guide No. 1229
The splash before impact
Cause arrives late.
A water droplet hangs in the air above a shallow puddle while a crown-shaped splash already rises from the surface below it. The puddle has started without it.
Field noteThe crown rises before the drop lands. Effects ahead of causes are bad physics, not a bad picture.
Also possible, also breaking physics
Peppercorns piercing a porcelain platePeppercorns are hard but not that hard. These went through porcelain and table at speed.
Underwater eel illuminates abandoned bulbsSome eels carry a charge. Lighting bulbs with no circuit, underwater, is another level.
Zebra stripes blowing across savannaStripes are just hair colour. Coming away in ribbons is odd, but a striped animal and a breeze is all it takes.
Cobalt roots beneath the turfElectric blue roots end in small flames under the lawn. The grass has no idea what its basement is doing.
