Field guide No. 775
Zebra stripes blowing across savanna
Losing the stripes in the wind.
A zebra stands in dry grass while its back half’s stripes peel off as black ribbons and stream away on the wind, leaving it pale. It will need them back.
Field noteStripes are just hair colour. Coming away in ribbons is odd, but a striped animal and a breeze is all it takes.
Also possible, also breaking physics
Horizontal rain between twin cloudsRain falls toward the ground. This rain crosses sideways from one cloud into another.
Blue flamed ivory mushroom hollowPale blue mushrooms glow among ferns. The understory keeps its own lights on.
The last light sheds white dustA tube light pours powder over buried chairs. Light does not shed dust, but a falling drift has no contradiction.
All the hours at onceTrees can bloom and turn unevenly; snow can come early. All of it on one tree is merely bad timing.
