Field guide No. 557
Granite chime suspended in dusk
Windchime, heavy wind needed.
In a dark pine forest at dusk, five rough granite boulders hang from a branch on thin lines like a wind chime. It does ring, eventually.
Field noteWind chimes are light so a breeze can ring them. This one is five granite boulders on threads.
Also possible, also breaking material
Black breath bubbles in a white desertMud pots bubble in grey; these keep their round shape dry, black and stacked in a heap.
Porcelain heart of an artichokeAn artichoke is leaves to the middle. Fired china where the heart should be is wrong stuff.
Pomegranate seeds turn to stoneSeeds leave the fruit red and land grey. Somewhere in mid-air they became gravel.
Starry blackberries on a thorn branchRipe blackberries hold starfields and a spiral galaxy. The red ones are merely unripe.
