Field guide No. 699
Pomegranate seeds turn to stone
Not quite ripe. Not quite fruit.
A pomegranate lies split on a blue enamel tray, and the red seeds bursting out of it turn into grey pebbles as they fly. Lunch has become gravel.
Field noteSeeds leave the fruit red and land grey. Somewhere in mid-air they became gravel.
Also possible, also breaking material
Wheelbarrow with an impossible hollow wheelOn a bare ring of a wheel rides a red wheelbarrow. With no hub it should fail; nothing in the picture says it does.
Towel peaksFolded cotton piles as high as you have cotton. The cable car is the ambitious part.
Where the fox wasStone takes prints only over ages. This one took a fox’s nap in detail and kept it.
Zebra stripes hanging from a fenceStripes can hang as fabric beside the zebra. The animal appears to have kept its own.
