Field guide No. 448
Fossil fish bends the stone
Still swimming, technically.
In a limestone quarry, a slab with a fossil fish in it is bent and cracked along the line of the fish, as if it swam off in a curve. The rock went with it.
Field noteFossils keep still for a living. This one has flexed, and the slab had to bend round it.
Also possible, also breaking physics
Cello strings tether grounded cloudsClouds sitting on parquet on a leash defy weather, not logic. The cello is in tune.
Bear’s dandelion sneeze at duskBears do sneeze. They don’t exhale a field’s worth of dandelion seed, however long they’ve been sniffing.
Sparks where rain touches earthRaindrops land with a splash. In this forest each one lands with a little burst of orange sparks.
The slowest applauseDroplets on a thread hang a little too politely. Otherwise a sunflower and some water, both real.
