Field guide No. 433
Beneath a giant poppy petal
Shade, but red.
From down in the grass, a single enormous red poppy petal arches overhead like an awning against a blue summer sky. Everything underneath is lit pink.
Field notePetals are thin and last a week. This one is a roof, and the size of one.
Also possible, also breaking scale
The crayon breakwaterCrayons could be cast this big and stood in the surf. The tide would have notes.
Feather-filled ribcage motel at midnightA ribcage that size needs an animal no larger than a motel. It just isn’t there.
Right of pastryGates are arches and arches can be any shape. A baked one would just need varnish.
Unwinding upwardSpiral walkways exist. Shaping one like a corkscrew is a matter of nerve and steel.
