Field guide No. 234
A minor adjustment
Measured, then halved.
In a cluttered workshop, a brass caliper clamps a small grey moon split cleanly in two on the workbench. It was a fraction too wide.
Field noteRead charitably, a stone ball and a good caliper. Read literally, a moon somebody shrank to fit the vice.
Also possible, also breaking scale
A very small eruptionVolcanoes come small, and some only bubble mud. One in a sharpener is unwise but not contradictory.
Butterfly brutalismConcrete will take any shape you pour. Architects have built sillier things, if not this one.
Long distanceA phone the size of a cottage asks only for plastic and nerve. The line is another matter.
Glazed and confusedIcing sets hard enough to skate on if you are small enough. The cast is.
