Field guide No. 235
The sea has pockets
Denim, with a key in it.
At sunset, the surface of the sea folds into a stitched denim pocket holding a single old brass key. Check before you wash it.
Field noteWater stitched like denim breaks the fabric rules, not the logical ones. The key is perfectly ordinary.
Also possible, also breaking material
Still water in a vintage carriageSeats of standing water require water that stands. Physics declines; logic shrugs.
Sound caught in a silver colanderSound has no shape to strain; glass ripples do. As sculpture it stands; as acoustics it leaks.
Knotical milesSmall boats ride waves; this wave is chunky knit. Wool makes poor weather, comfortably.
A softer landingOak is not upholstery. The floor is behaving like the wrong material, nothing worse.
