Field guide No. 354
Eight loose ends
Knitted, then it left.
On a purple velvet sofa, a ball of orange wool has grown eight long yarn legs and become a spider, a knitting needle still stuck in it, while a dark furry animal peers down from the cushions. Someone dropped a stitch.
Field noteSpiders are built of legs and silk, never wool. This one was knitted, apparently.
Also possible, also breaking material
A matter of tasteMoss and rock layered on sponge is a terrarium with a cake slice’s ambitions. Inedible, still possible.
Sandstone coats in a seaside changing roomStone carved into a coat is just a sculptor’s idea of a cloakroom. Heavy, but coherent.
The inflated highwayTarmac cracks long before it swells. Blown up like a lilo, it’s behaving like rubber.
Fresh airFruit makes a feeble blade, but a blade nonetheless. The fan would work, briefly and stickily.
