Field guide No. 718
Silver fish in the projector beam
The film is mostly fish.
In an empty old cinema a shoal of silver fish swims down the violet projector beam, and the screen shows their shadows as the feature. Nobody has asked for a refund.
Field noteFish swim along the projector beam as though light were a current. Their shadows are the film.
Also possible, also breaking physics
Snow dissolving into rose petalsSnow can be replaced by petals in the air. Winter has not signed the handover.
Hare with groundbound earsEars lie flat behind the hare like dragged ropes; it is listening to the field, and the field is listening back.
Tumbleweed through the concrete wallsDry brush slipping through poured concrete without a crack breaks physics, but the weed stays a weed.
Geese carve green furrows through cloudsGeese leave nothing behind but noise. These plough the clouds in rows, neat enough to sow.
