Field guide No. 106
Shell service
It’s the sea calling.
A conch shell made into a telephone receiver floats over a pink salt lake at sunset, its coiled cord trailing down to the water.
Field noteConches have long been held to the ear. Wiring one up is easy; floating it is the hard part.
Also possible, also breaking physics
Escaping grooves on plasterGrooves are just shaped vinyl; lifting off makes them loose shaped vinyl. Odd, consistent.
Light breakfastLogically sound. Clouds simply don’t toast, which is physics’ problem, not logic’s.
The radish airshipBalloons are round and ride under baskets. Radishes are round and heavy, and should not.
Private weatherSmall sparks are allowed; static manages them daily. Inside a snail shell they are merely misplaced.
