Field guide No. 565
Invisible whale in the blizzard
Only visible in bad weather.
Over a flat white plain in driving snow, the shape of a whale is drawn by the flakes swirling round it, the whale itself not there at all. It only shows up when it's blowing a gale.
Field noteWhales swim in water and show themselves. This one swims in snow and only the flakes show it.
Also possible, also breaking physics
Return to sender: upward rainRain falls once and stays fallen. These drops leave the pond again and head back to the leaf.
Wind-up key in the stormA red key can turn inside a storm cloud in a picture. The sky is not a clock.
Meteorite in the trampoline wellThe mat is pulled into a deep funnel around a dark rock, so the bounce has been postponed for good.
Light breakfastLogically sound. Clouds simply don’t toast, which is physics’ problem, not logic’s.
