Field guide No. 545
Colorless reaction, magenta and cyan shadows
Two colours spill, nothing in between.
Two tipped glasses pour magenta and cyan liquid across white paper, and where the pools meet they turn completely clear, though the shadow underneath keeps both colours. The chemistry is going on in the shade.
Field noteMixed paints go muddy. Here magenta and cyan meet and turn clear, though the shadow keeps the colours.
Also possible, also breaking physics
Red bicycle with square tiresSquare wheels roll smoothly on the right bumpy road. This flat pavement isn’t it.
A snail’s blooming pathSnails leave slime, which grows nothing. This one plants a border at the speed of a snail.
Cobalt waterfire on autumn leavesBlue flame still burns leaves, however unhelpful the rain. Color does not contradict combustion.
Downpour in reverseRain falls into pale columns that sprout in rows from cracked earth. The ground is farming weather.
