Field guide No. 616
A diner folded along a napkin
Creased down the middle, like the napkin.
A whole diner, counter, stools and booths, bends up along one sharp crease running down the chequered floor, and a folded paper napkin on the counter shows how it was done. Table for two, folded in half.
Field noteDiners are built of steel, tile and vinyl. This one was built of paper, folded once and stood on its edge.
Also possible, also breaking material
Broken pot with impossible soil shardsLoose soil spills when its pot breaks; this earth snapped clean along the cracks like baked sponge.
Sugar cube ant escapeAnts carry sugar off grain by grain. Ants made of sugar are a different arrangement.
Rain sifted confetti from woolWet wool drips water. This blanket rains paper triangles instead, red and blue, all over the lawn.
Static spills onto purple carpetA television pours its static onto the carpet in grainy heaps. The signal went out the front.
