Field guide No. 1373
Suitcase spills daylight on the night carousel
Packed a little sunshine
An old leather suitcase on a dark airport baggage carousel cracks open, and bright daylight pours out across the belt. Someone brought the holiday home with them.
Field noteDaylight leaks from a battered suitcase’s seam onto a night-time baggage belt, dust glinting in the beam.
Also possible, also breaking physics
The chair that wasn'tDust does hang in sunbeams. Sitting it into furniture is physics overstepping, gently.
Colorless reaction, magenta and cyan shadowsMixed paints go muddy. Here magenta and cyan meet and turn clear, though the shadow keeps the colours.
A small disagreement at duskThe walls curl toward each other without meeting. The argument has been postponed.
Still listeningSound ripples the walls of a pipe, frozen mid-note. A trumpet waits, and so does the answer.
