Field guide No. 1367
Sparks across exposed tree roots
Root system, rewired
An uprooted tree shows its tangle of roots, and wherever a root has snapped, violet sparks jump the gap. Somebody pulled the plug, literally.
Field noteSnapped roots arc with violet sparks across each break, like severed cables still carrying current.
Also possible, also breaking category

White dandelion plume above rust-red lavaVolcanoes throw ash. Seeds are a meadow’s output, delivered by the wrong mountain.

The unsettled birchBark unrolled into scrolls around a bare trunk. Birch bark does peel, though it does not volunteer to be read.
