Field guide No. 1366
Snow in the picnic table's shadow
The shade stayed in winter
A weathered picnic table on a green spring lawn, its shadow filled exactly with fresh snow. Somewhere a season is running late, but only underneath the furniture.
Field noteSnowfall keeps to the picnic table’s shadow, a tidy white rectangle on a green spring lawn.
Also possible, also breaking physics
Puddle reaching the cloudWaterspouts link sea and cloud for a few minutes. This puddle managed a very thin one.
Woodpecker’s perfect cube burstWood splinters along the grain. Square-cut cubes need a saw the bird doesn’t carry.
Apple shadow devours the wooden tableApple shadows can only darken a surface. This one seems to have taken the boards with it; physics, not logic.
Crosswind over the desert plainA rolled tube of dust lies sideways above a stony plain. The wind found a shape and stuck with it.
