Field guide No. 389
Sleeping hedgehog in the quarry
Curled up in the dig.
A hedgehog the size of a hill sleeps curled up inside the terraced bowl of an open-pit quarry, roads running around it. Work has stopped until spring.
Field noteCurled up exactly like any hedgehog, only the size of the pit it sleeps in.
Also possible, also breaking scale
Al dentePasta comes in all sizes if you have a mould and a crane. Nobody has had both.
Light dessertLift enough balloons and anything goes up, jelly included. The wobble is a bonus.
Sunday at the staplerPools are rectangles with a ladder, and so, roughly, is a stapler. Lane rules still apply.
Someone has been hereAnything pressed into snow leaves its shape. A fern this size is the improbable part.
