Field guide No. 532
A bedroom wrapped in cotton
Fitted sheet, fitted room.
A cream cotton sheet is stretched over the floor and up every wall of a timber bedroom, tucked tight under the window, with a pile of cushions in one corner. The whole room is now the bed, so getting up is a matter of opinion.
Field noteFitted sheets stop at the mattress. This one carries on up the walls, so the whole room is made.
Also possible, also breaking scale
Endless cord, tiny phoneA very long phone cord is still a cord. The other receiver can wait at its far end.
Tiny hoofprints, distant deerHoofprints the size of fingernails pock a lichened boulder while one full-size deer watches from afar.
Sunflower seatsSeed heads are already arranged in rows. Amphitheatres only needed to notice.
Feather-filled ribcage motel at midnightA ribcage that size needs an animal no larger than a motel. It just isn’t there.
