Field guide No. 515
Orbital ring through lunar terrain
The ground has other plans.
On the moon, a ridge of rock and crystals lifts off the surface and arcs up into the black sky as a ring of rubble, past a small rover. The rover has no comment.
Field noteRings form from dust far out in orbit. This one is still peeling up off the moon’s ground, rocks and all.
Also possible, also breaking physics
Woodpecker’s perfect cube burstWood splinters along the grain. Square-cut cubes need a saw the bird doesn’t carry.
Hourglass aging light into ironLight leaves an hourglass as light. This beam comes out the far side as a rusted iron bar.
Soft impactChrome splashing at a feather’s touch is a materials failure, not a contradiction.
Pearly teeth in a purple figFruit growing dentition is biology going off-script. Dentists would cope; botanists less so.
