Field guide No. 507
Endless carpet beneath a closed hotel door
Housekeeping has given up.
A heap of patterned red hotel carpet spills out from under a closed door into a long tiled corridor, rucked up in folds. There is clearly a lot more of it on the other side.
Field noteUnder a closed door there is room for a draught. Out of this gap comes carpet, more than any room behind could hold.
Also possible, also breaking scale
Thunderstorm under glassGlasshouses keep weather out. This one has grown a thunderstorm of its own under the roof.
Office hoursRamps can be any shape you can weld. Staplers are a reasonable one.
Sunday at the staplerPools are rectangles with a ladder, and so, roughly, is a stapler. Lane rules still apply.
A minor adjustmentRead charitably, a stone ball and a good caliper. Read literally, a moon somebody shrank to fit the vice.
