Field guide No. 1096
Crystalline wings in black lava
Hidden in a crack, folded neatly.
Orange butterfly wings fill a crevice in black porous lava rock, packed in tightly like a seam of ore. The rock has been mined and nobody mentioned the delicacy.
Field noteOrange butterfly wings are packed into a lava crack like ore. Mining it would call for tweezers.
Also possible, also breaking material
Water padlock on a rusted chainLocks work by being hard. This one is water and holds a chain anyway, dripping.
Paper plane in origami mudMud can hold folds until rain returns. The plane has a runway of damp paper.
Velvet rain over an empty fieldRed velvet threads fall from the sky and pile in heaps. Weather made of fabric is unlikely, yet describable.
Terracotta tails across the rubbleCourses of fired clay drooping like rope ask a lot of mortar, yet every brick is still a brick.
