Field guide No. 1095
Crumpled shadows among fallen leaves
The shadows came down in the fall.
Dark crumpled shapes like fallen leaves cover a gravel path beside a wooden rail, mixed with a few real green ones. They have the leaves’ outline and none of the leaves.
Field noteDark leaf outlines litter a gravel path with no leaves in them. Only the outline fell.
Also possible, also breaking category
The raven’s spoon graveyardPlates and spoons are tableware, not memorials. A cemetery for them is a category slip.
Beyond measureA measuring tape curls up the wall like a ramp. The result exceeds its instrument.
Storm felled tree, living worm rootsThe upturned root plate is made of thick reddish worms. The storm only revealed it.
