Field guide No. 431
Autumn leaves queue beneath ancient roots
Please wait to be composted.
On a forest floor of fallen leaves, three neat single-file lines of leaves curve up to the roots of an old tree. They appear to be waiting their turn.
Field noteLeaves land where the wind drops them. These have formed orderly queues, which wind never manages.
Also possible, also breaking physics
The pond returns the rainWater rises as vapour, unseen. Streams shooting up into one cloud is the visible version.
Blue water, held by fireFlames push up only heat. These hold up a bowl of water without boiling it or being put out.
The cloud cobblerClouds are water and tacks are brass. Brass does not hold water vapour, however neatly driven.
Escaping grooves on plasterGrooves are just shaped vinyl; lifting off makes them loose shaped vinyl. Odd, consistent.
