Field guide No. 503
Aurora beneath the kelp forest
The lights went down a level.
The northern lights hang in green and violet curtains under the water, between the stalks of a kelp forest. The fish have stopped looking up.
Field noteAuroras belong to the upper sky. These curtains are hanging between the kelp, a long way below the waterline.
Also possible, also breaking physics
The chalk migrationPaper birds fold easily; napkins hold a shape. Flying south is an aerodynamic stretch.
The colour goes homePigment that runs uphill into its tin offends gravity and drying times. Logic is unbothered.
Geese walking up a waterfallWalking up falling water needs grip water doesn’t offer. The geese manage anyway.
Shredder reverses into one sheetShredding goes one way only, that being the point of it. This one runs backwards.
