Ancient sandstone zipper reveals hidden jungle
The cliff was only zipped shut.
A towering red sandstone cliff is split by a giant stone zipper, half undone, with a misty green jungle and a waterfall showing through the gap. Someone left the desert open.
Field noteCliffs crack; they don’t fasten. A zip in rock is a fastening where a fault should be.
Also possible, also breaking category
White dandelion plume above rust-red lavaVolcanoes throw ash. Seeds are a meadow’s output, delivered by the wrong mountain.
Last stop, asparagusTowers are tall, green and tapered when architects allow it. Asparagus has been doing it for free.
Cracked eggshell bag, golden yolkA paper bag printed with speckles holds a yolk badly but coherently. Packaging, misjudged.
Bison grazing the dawn fogFog is weather, not fodder. A herd treating it as grass is a menu error, not a paradox.
