Field guide No. 1236
The wrong foot
The reflection has more of them.
A heron stands in shallow water at dusk, while its reflection below ends in a fan of many long, thin legs. The bird has been counting only the ones it needs.
Field noteA heron on two legs above a reflection on many. Mirrors do not edit, though a picture can show one that does.
Also possible, also breaking physics
Between floorsA stair can be built in a loop; walking it is the problem. Engineers would allow it, feet would not.
Cherry blossoms along exposed rootsBlossom opens on twigs, where bees can see it. On this tree it opens along the bare roots instead.
A crack in the quietTwo birds cross a cloud split like stone. The weather has found a fault line.
Spare breathPruned bramble tips exhale small clouds in the frost. The bush is warm and not telling anyone.
