Field guide No. 399
The magnetic hedgehog
Picks up everything.
On a workshop bench, a hedgehog has collected a coat of steel washers, nuts and screws on its spines, curving out like a magnet’s field lines. It is not allowed near the hard drives.
Field noteSpines aren’t iron. Pulling washers into field lines takes a magnet the hedgehog isn’t.
Also possible, also breaking physics
Autumn leaves suspended in timeLeaves that refuse to land are gravity’s embarrassment. The tree is entirely ordinary.
Heavy break on the greenFelt doesn’t sag like a rubber sheet under light balls. This table lectures on gravity.
Soft landingDandelion seeds fly well, up to a few milligrams. Cabins sit outside the specification.
Private weatherSmall sparks are allowed; static manages them daily. Inside a snail shell they are merely misplaced.
