Field guide No. 222
The colour goes home
Back to the tins, please.
Every colour drains out of a landscape painting on an easel and runs in neat rainbow streams back into the open paint tins on the studio floor. The painting is left in grey, considering its choices.
Field notePigment that runs uphill into its tin offends gravity and drying times. Logic is unbothered.
Also possible, also breaking physics
All the hours at onceTrees can bloom and turn unevenly; snow can come early. All of it on one tree is merely bad timing.
A door for nobodyDoors don’t usually hold back streams while lying down. Water’s choice, not a contradiction.
Autumn stillness in a stormWind that stops at a straight line breaks the weather’s rules, not logic’s.
Soft landingDandelion seeds fly well, up to a few milligrams. Cabins sit outside the specification.
