Field guide No. 522
The beach’s suspended sand wave
Bass-heavy coastline.
On a grey beach a small loudspeaker sits on the sand, and a long wave of sand rises off the beach and hangs breaking in the air beyond it. Turn it down and the whole beach comes down too.
Field noteSound shivers sand a little. A small speaker here has lifted a whole breaking wave of beach into the air.
Also possible, also breaking physics
Return to natureErasers are real and remove things. Turning tarmac into meadow is beyond rubber’s brief.
Private weatherSmall sparks are allowed; static manages them daily. Inside a snail shell they are merely misplaced.
Upside down flamingos on the ceilingFlamingos stand on one leg anywhere gravity lets them. Here it lets them up.
Ears through steelEars drape over things, never through them. These pass through steel as if it were a tablecloth.
