Field guide No. 737
Suspended snow in a bare orchard
The snow stayed up.
In a snowy orchard, one bare old tree holds a whole cloud of snow in its branches, piled where leaves would be. The others make do with frost.
Field noteSnow does settle on branches. Settling in a heap the size of a cloud, with no branch under most of it, is the stretch.
Also possible, also breaking physics
Orchard apples defy gravityApples grow embedded in the underside of a thick mossy branch instead of hanging; the tree took the brief literally.
Air dryPegs and lines are dependable. Clouds, unfortunately, are not something you can grip.
The self-dismantling amplifierLoud amps do rattle screws loose. This one has unscrewed every one at once and let go of its panels.
Dachshund on a runaway persian rugA patterned rug streams across the floor beneath a dachshund. The dog has noticed the furniture leaving.
