Field guide No. 008
Sunny side up
Shallow end, over easy.
A fried egg floats in a turquoise pool with its own ladder. The yolk is the deep end.
Field noteAn outsized egg is a sculpture with a yolk. Pools have floated worse.
Also possible, also breaking scale
The pincushion wetlandsStilt houses need stilts; pins are stilts with a point. Herons do not ask about zoning.
The last rinse whirlpoolA whirlpool needs a drain; this bowl hasn’t got one. Small physics, no contradiction.
Sole performanceModel theatres are a Victorian toy. Putting one in a slipper is a matter of glue.
Wing gardensWings bear patterns and pagodas are small enough as bonsai. Flying the result is the dragonfly’s affair.
