Field guide No. 1197
Steel rings in a sliced onion
Layers, but sharper.
A halved onion shows concentric rings of toothed steel blades where the flesh should be, on a scratched dark surface. The eyes will water, and the cook will need to watch their fingers.
Field noteToothed steel blades take the onion’s rings. The eyes will water, and the fingers.
