Field guide No. 1495
Standing water curtain at low tide
The wave forgot to fall.
A thin glassy sheet of water stands upright along the shoreline, dripping like a curtain while the beach stays calm. Low tide has put up a wall.
Field noteWaves stand tall for a moment before breaking. This one has decided not to, all the way along.
Also possible, also breaking physics
Upward rain beneath the canopyDrops rise off a wet platform under a blue sky. Rain falls from clouds; this has neither, and contradicts nothing.
A question of balanceSmall hippos exist and teacups exist. The cups surviving is the only unlikely part.
Scissors cutting their own bladeScissors cut what goes between their blades. These peel one of their own blades into curls.
Cobalt plates in liquid collisionBlue plates break apart as droplets scatter. Dinner has reached the impact phase.
