Field guide No. 1492
Soap bubble straddling the doorway
Round inside, square outside.
A soap bubble half inside a pink laundromat and half out, round on one side of the door and a box on the other. It’s doing laundry by halves.
Field noteBubble film takes the shape of its frame, so a square half is fine. Surviving a door is the miracle.
Also possible, also breaking physics
Silver fish swim through wheatFish drift between wheat stalks as if the field were shallow. Harvest will be netted.
A small matter of gravityIrons do not hover or sift. That is a complaint for physics; logic signed off long ago.
The beach’s suspended sand waveSound shivers sand a little. A small speaker here has lifted a whole breaking wave of beach into the air.
Tea returns against gravityA stream of tea arcs back from the cup toward the teapot. The spill has reconsidered its direction.
