Field guide No. 228
Saltwater etiquette
The crab will see you now.
On a wet beach at sunset, a crab lifts a silver serving dome off a small red rug as if unveiling dinner. Presentation is everything, even at low tide.
Field noteCrabs lift things all the time; waitering is the new part. Unusual career change, nothing more.
Also possible, also breaking category
A stamp of deep timeA rubber stamp can print a picture of strata. Printing the strata themselves is the stamp overreaching.
The longer goodbyePeeling paint, but on a horse. A white animal walking out of its own pattern breaks no law of logic.
Scale transitViaducts arch; so do leaping fish. Casting one as the other is civil engineering with flair.
The apricot archiveStones are small and so are scrolls. Filing one in place of the other is merely bureaucratic.
