Field guide No. 379
Owl in the last dandelion
Nesting in a wish.
A small owl peers out from inside a giant dandelion clock at sunset, seeds drifting off around it. One good gust and the nest is gone.
Field noteDandelion clocks are thumb-sized; owls aren’t. Here the seed head is both small and a nest.

Lunar laundryThe moon is two thousand miles across, and this drum is two feet. One of them has to give.
Peak espressoMountain ranges with ski lifts outsize their crockery. This cup is holding one anyway.
Lunar tempoA night sky is the thing everything else sits inside. Here it sits inside a metronome, on adagio.
The paperweight glacierA mountain range in a paperweight would be a model. The glacier leaving it at full size settles otherwise.
