Field guide No. 510
Frozen campfire in an abandoned freezer
Keep frozen. Do not light.
In a derelict brick room, a rusted old freezer stands open on a campfire frozen solid inside it, flames and logs furred with frost and icicles. It kept something, just not food.
Field noteA fire is heat or it is nothing. This campfire is frozen through, frost on its flames, and still a campfire.

Flames within the icebergA fire inside ice that doesn’t melt it is both hot and not hot at the same place.
Knotted river through autumn marshWater in a knot has to cross over itself, flowing above its own surface without a bridge.
Five sparrows, five gravitiesGravity has one down per place. Five sparrows on one twig have five, which makes the branch a disagreement.
