Field guide No. 262
Fog in the quiet car
It isn't talking to anyone.
In an empty old railway carriage with red velvet seats, a soft bank of fog sits in one seat by a misted window. It got on two stops ago and hasn't said a word.
Field noteFog that keeps to one seat ignores diffusion. Polite passengers do exist, if rarely.
Also possible, also breaking physics
School attractionSardines contain iron, though not enough to bother a magnet. Physics declines; logic shrugs.
Gravity has left the roomEggs fall, as a rule. This one is merely ignoring the rule, which is physics’ affair.
A featherweight decisionAnvils do not float. Tying one down is sensible; the floating is physics’ oversight.
Reserved for the rainRain falling only where booked is meteorology being fussy. A table can have its own weather in principle.
