Field guide No. 553
Floating birch beneath a giant dandelion
Dispersed by the wind.
A whole birch tree, roots dangling, hangs under a single huge dandelion seed and drifts over a green hillside above a lake. It will land somewhere and expect to be left alone.
Field noteDandelion seeds carry seeds. This one has a whole birch hanging under it, roots and all.
Also possible, also breaking scale
Pelican’s one sip too manyA pelican’s pouch holds a few litres. This one is draining the shoreline and seems determined.
Tiny lizard, giant castoff tailA tiny lizard crosses a tail many times its size. The shed skin has kept the better half of the frame.
Still processingGelatine sets at any size given a big enough mould. Deserts are not known for helping.
Moth motelMoths come to lit windows anyway. One large enough to have them is a zoning question.
