Field guide No. 347
Clouds beneath the frozen lake
Weather, under ice.
A frozen lake at sunset with white cumulus clouds trapped under the clear ice. The sky above is fine; this is extra.
Field noteCumulus need open sky to form. Under ice they have nowhere to rise to.
Also possible, also breaking physics
Time fliesHourglasses are real and so are butterflies. Neither glows when poured.
Between floorsA stair can be built in a loop; walking it is the problem. Engineers would allow it, feet would not.
The last matchSmoke setting solid is chemistry misbehaving. A cube of anything is still a perfectly sound cube.
Basalt balanced on a soap bubbleBubbles burst under a fingertip, let alone a ton of rock. Unlikely, though not self-contradicting.
