Field guide No. 624
Black eclipses over a sunflower
Seeds that block the sun.
A sunflower leans over a field, and out of its face drift dozens of black discs, each with a faint bright ring like an eclipse. The flower has been storing them up all summer.
Field noteSunflower seeds should be small, striped and edible. These fly off as tiny eclipses, each with its own ring of light.
Also possible, also breaking physics
The empty paradeBoots walking unworn is a motor problem, not a contradiction. Footwear has simply gone freelance.
Avalanche against an invisible boundarySnow slides until it runs out of slope. This lot stops dead at a line nobody can see, sheared flat like a cut cake.
Inverted meteorite crater in white chalkWhite chalk surrounds a reversed crater. The meteorite was excavated from underneath.
Corridor zipped into itselfHallway walls meet at the far end along a zip, teeth and all.
