Field guide No. 033
Away game
No home advantage.
A basketball the size of a planet hangs over a red desert at sunset. A lone hiker considers a very long shot.
Field noteSpheres can be made big; holding a planet’s worth of rubber aloft is the snag.
Also possible, also breaking scale
Al dentePasta comes in all sizes if you have a mould and a crane. Nobody has had both.
Glazed and confusedIcing sets hard enough to skate on if you are small enough. The cast is.
A very small eruptionVolcanoes come small, and some only bubble mud. One in a sharpener is unwise but not contradictory.
Butterfly brutalismConcrete will take any shape you pour. Architects have built sillier things, if not this one.
