Field guide No. 409
Three carts under private storms
Abandoned, under weather.
In an empty car park at dusk, three shopping trolleys each stand under their own small rain cloud, rain falling only on them. Nobody is returning them now.
Field noteWeather that follows one trolley around is very local, though nothing about it contradicts.
Also possible, also breaking physics
Late for nothingTortoises run tracks if bribed. Leaving glass copies of the shell behind is the physics problem.
Paper moths in the archiveFolded paper flying unaided is aerodynamics’ concern. Moths in drawers are a museum staple.
Clouds beneath the frozen lakeCumulus need open sky to form. Under ice they have nowhere to rise to.
Air dryPegs and lines are dependable. Clouds, unfortunately, are not something you can grip.
