The long blink
A nap the weather respects
A hippo lies eyes-closed in a brown pool under pouring rain, and above it the rain parts around a dome of clear air. Some sleeps are too deep to interrupt.
Field noteDownpour parts around a dome of dry air over a dozing hippo, the rain bending away at its edge.
Also possible, also breaking physics
Tidal lagoon of liquid cubesWater takes the shape of what holds it. These blocks hold themselves, in cubes, on open sand.
Dachshund on a runaway persian rugA patterned rug streams across the floor beneath a dachshund. The dog has noticed the furniture leaving.
Not quite levelTwo hoops stand at unrelated angles with a shadow that disagrees with both; the game has not started.
Long exposureCameras take in light; this one gives out river. Plumbing could manage it, optics could not.
