Field guide No. 385

Carving released the contents.
A carved jack-o’-lantern on a wooden table has been split open, and its seeds are turning into black moths that crawl out and fly off into the room. Roasting is off.
Field noteSeeds turn into plants, given soil and months. Moths are a shortcut nature never took.
