Field guide No. 1564
Fresh coat
One coat, freestanding
A bare room under renovation has a teal wall standing out from the plaster, thin as a skin, with window holes cut into it. The paint came off the wall and became one.
Field noteTeal paint stands up as its own wall, a skin lifted off the plaster with windows in it.
Also possible, also breaking material
Broken pot with impossible soil shardsLoose soil spills when its pot breaks; this earth snapped clean along the cracks like baked sponge.
A softer landingOak is not upholstery. The floor is behaving like the wrong material, nothing worse.
Straw hatted garden snailSnails grow their shells. This one carries a woven sun hat, ribbon and all, coiled into a spiral.
One for the roadTyre tread pours from a red suitcase across the yellow lines; it has been on the road a while.
