Field guide No. 659
Fox tail becoming asphalt road
A long tail, resurfaced.
A red fox sleeps curled in the heather above a loch at sunset, and its brush trails down the slope and turns into a winding tarmac road with a white line. Every car on it is technically being let through.
Field noteFur and tarmac meet halfway down this tail, and the line where one becomes the other cannot be found.

Two snails, one shared shellTwo snails crawl out of opposite ends of one shell. One body, two bodies; the picture cannot have both counts.
Closing time for shadowsA shadow is where light isn’t. Swept into a pile, it’s also something that is. Pick one.
