Field guide No. 1441
Fog weighs down the fence
Heavy weather
Across a grass field, a low bank of fog lies on a wire fence, the posts leaning and the wires sagging under it. Fog was supposed to be the light kind of weather.
Field noteFog is mostly air with a little water in it, and still these fence posts are buckling under the bank.
Also possible, also breaking physics
The seam in the seaCord could, in principle, be laced through water. The water would decline to stay shut.
A dry pocket in rushing waterRivers fill every hole they cross. This one pours in at the edges of a dry square and never fills it.
Theater of drifting chairsRed theatre chairs drift at odd angles through a dim auditorium. The audience has already gone home.
Silver fish swim through wheatFish drift between wheat stalks as if the field were shallow. Harvest will be netted.
